You get in touch with us via a phone call or our contact form, and the magic begins. Our friendly admin, Allison, will give you a call to discuss your project and go over some details. If it makes sense for us to move forward with a consultation appointment, Allison will get you scheduled. Keep an eye on your email, because we’ll be sending reminders and some helpful tips and links prior to your appointment!
At Lakeside Decking, we take your project from concept to design to reality, all in-house and with a level of care and commitment to the client experience that's not often seen in the construction industry. It's important to us that you always know where you're at and what the next step is.
One of our Deck Consultants will meet you at your home at the agreed-upon time. You’ll be able to show them your space and discuss your vision for the project. We will measure and photograph the space, as well as go over some resources that we'll be leaving behind for you to peruse at your leisure. At the end of your appointment, you'll set up an appointment for the next step: your estimate presentation.
You’ll meet with your Deck Consultant and discuss a potential scope and budget for your project. Your Deck Consultant will be available to answer any questions you may have, and you’ll work together to refine the budget and desires for the project. At this time, there are still many variables for your project, so we’ll move you into our next step: the Planning & Design Agreement.
If you decide to move forward after your free estimate, you'll enter into the Planning & Design stage, which has a small fee that covers the cost of fully designing and auditing your project. It’s during this stage that you’ll make selections for your deck boards, railings, and every other piece of your project, and once that’s done we’ll get 3D renderings so you can see EXACTLY what your completed project will look like in your space. Getting your reaction to the renderings is one of our favorite parts of the whole process!
At this point, you’ve made all the decisions about your project and we’ve digitally "built" and priced it out. We’ll present you with a contract that spells out the exact cost and scope of the project, and if you’re happy with what you see it’s time to sign on the dotted line! (Just kidding – all our paperwork is online!)
Now that your contract is signed and deposit is paid, it’s time to get the project started! For you, this means patiently waiting and dreaming about the new space you’ll soon get to enjoy. For us, that means submitting your permit, ordering your materials, scheduling your project timeline, and getting things set up in JobTread.
The day you’ve been waiting for! The building process starts with a handoff meeting, where your Deck Consultant will introduce you to the Production team, who will be your new points of contact throughout the build. You’ll have access to JobTread the entire time the crew is building, and you’ll receive updates there if you want to stay up to speed. If you have any questions, the Production team will be available to answer them!
You did it, we did it, we all did it!! Your project is complete and you can enjoy your new outdoor space for years to come, knowing that the materials and craftsmanship that went into it will last you a lifetime and beyond. At some point we will call you to schedule a time for our photographer to stop by and grab photos of the project. The only task left for you to do is write us a review and refer us to your friends and family!

"We had Josh and the Lakeside crew replace our large aging deck as part of a big landscaping project we took on, including redesigning the layout and building two new staircases. They impressed from the get-go, giving us a clear picture of what to expect in terms of end result, timing and cost - and ended up delivering on all fronts, as well as being super-communicative every step of the way. The whole process was so worry-free and our new deck looks AMAZING. We couldn't be happier."
